The patient initially came to us expressing deep frustration with her appearance after a failed procedure elsewhere.
"My eyes don't look bright at all," she shared. "I look sad all the time, even though I am actually happy."
Despite her previous double eyelid surgery, her primary concerns were never resolved.
"It felt like they didn't address the root cause. I had no idea I was suffering from weak eye muscles, which made me look constantly sleepy and sorrowful."
During the consultation, Dr. Nui meticulously evaluated the patient's condition and identified the exact issues. She pointed out that the previous surgery had created an excessively high crease.
"Because your crease was fixed so high, it prevents your eyelids from opening properly," Dr. Nui explained. Furthermore, she noted a prominent, long scar left behind by the prior procedure, which became noticeably distorted and visible whenever the patient smiled.
Dr. Nui diagnosed the patient with bilateral weak eye muscles. She explained that this could have been a pre-existing condition or a direct result of the previous surgeon fixing the crease too high. To correct this, Dr. Nui designed a customized surgical plan. She advised the patient that the new eyelid crease would need to be smaller and more natural, as the anatomical distance between her eyebrows and eye sockets was quite narrow.
The doctor thoroughly explained the cosmetic reasoning behind this approach. "If we force a large crease, your pupils will appear disproportionately small, which can actually hinder your vision and make the eyes look dull," she noted. "By creating a slightly smaller crease instead, your pupils will look much larger and brighter, significantly reducing the unnatural 'floating' appearance of the eyes."
Trusting Dr. Nui's expert guidance, the patient was absolutely thrilled with the final outcome. "I wanted it to look the absolute best the doctor could manage, and I am so excited!" the patient happily reported. "My eyes feel incredibly bright now. I love the results so much. It makes me look younger, fresher, and has genuinely taken years off my face."
